Will Pakistan Play A Role In Palestine and Israel War? A Brief Insight On Present Situation

Israel and Pakistan never had diplomatic relationships because in 1947 Pakistan voted against the partition strategy of Israel by Palestine. Pakistan has been supporting Palestine forever in the Arab-Israel conflict. Pakistan has denied complete Israel sovereignty in Palestine and has raised voices in favor of Palestine's independence. In 2018 the Israeli prime minister on an authorized visit to India stated that “Israel is not the opponent of Pakistan and that Pakistan should not behave like an enemy towards Israel”. In 2020 Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan unveiled that the “United States and other countries are pressuring Pakistan to normalize ties and create diplomatic relations with Israel”.

He didn’t disclose the country’s name whether they are from the Muslim world or not but he added that all this pressure is just because of the strong sway of Israel on the United States for decades. He also added that “Israel atrium is as strong as America’s whole Middle East policy has been controlling by Israel” Later khan’s administration interpreted that “Pakistan would not establish any formal political relation with Israel until Palestine gets its sovereignty or an feasible and independent country is created for and accepted by Palestine ”.

Jinnah's words on Israel-Pakistan relation

Earlier Muhammad Ali Jinnah played a vital in creating awareness of the situation in Palestine. In the post-Khilafat movement, the All India Muslim League kept staunch support for Palestine and for all rights of Arabs. He not only broadened its masses but, also took up Palestine issues in and outside India on a serious note. Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah kept this issue on top of the list of agendas.

On October 12, 1945 Muhammad Ali Jinnah said;

"Every woman and man of the Muslim world will decease before Jewry take hold of Jerusalem. I hope the Jews will not flourish in their wicked designs and I wish Britain and America would retain their hand and then I will see how the Jews triumph over Jerusalem. The Jews, over half a truckload, have already been provided with accommodations in Jerusalem against the desires of the people. May I know which other country has billeted them? If authority and manipulation are carried now, there will be no harmony and end of wars”

Although many Israeli leaders or administrators believe that Israel should create good diplomatic relations with Pakistan as it will help Israel in creating diplomatic ties between Israel, the Muslim world, and also with Arab states both countries' administrations are thinking about creating diplomatic relations but still, they don’t share any diplomatic connection.

Pakistan’s narrative on Hamas-Israel war

Nowadays, Pakistan has been suffering through a conflict in the Hamas-Israel war. An analyst in Islamabad said that Pakistan has some concerns about publically supporting Hamas's attack on civilians, a bald-faced attack. Also, he added that the Israel-Hamas war and Israel’s brutality in Gaza has provided a reason to trigger Pakistani activist. This situation supported the reason that Islamist leaders forcefully came out against Israel.

From the backdoors Pakistan administration has been thinking about the recognition of Israel but it has been impossible for a long time due to Hamas Israel war as it will result in angriness of 2.4 billion Muslims around the world due to Israel's attack on Gaza. Pakistan has been going through an economic crisis and it needs a 3$ billion bailout from the international monetary fund as the administration is worried that Pakistan’s public stand out against Israel can create difficulties in its funding so, Pakistan not raising its voice against Israel at international level but providing Aid to Gaza people and opposing Israel attack on Gaza against Israel.

Pakistani administration wants to share ties with Israel but the abounding Palestine issue is as likely as Pakistan is abounding Kashmir. Kashmir and India have been sharing the same conflict similar to Israel- Palestine, and Pakistan has been standing in favor of Kashmir for decades. Recognizing Israel will be directly proportional to the abounding of Kashmir. Pakistan has been thinking about recognizing Israel and waiting when the time will be fortunate but from now it has become impossible to recognize Israel after the Israel-Hamas conflict.
