Metaverse Pros and Cons

Introduction

Hi Friends. Hope everyone of you are doing well. Today I am sharing a concept about Metaverse. As we all know that Facebook changed its name to Meta and now they announced that they are going to make Metaverse technology. Its seemed very fascinating thing because it will be a whole new and high tech virtual world, where everything will be in virtual reality.

Pros of Metaverse

There will be virtual rooms, offices, shopping malls, places, cinemas and entertainment related places. You can sale and purchase your property in the virtual world and also can acquire any property using virtual money.

Everyone have its own avatars, that will interact with other avatars in the virtual world same like we do interaction in real world. All of us know that there is virtual assistants but those are basically form of AI (Artificial Intelligence). These virtual assistants are not so smart. But wait these are only prototypes or beta versions to those Avatars which will be in metaverse.

Using Artificial intelligence these avatars will react and respond to you just like normal and real humans. They will have their own emotions just like real humans, they can think, can give ideas, can analyze objects each and everything just like us (The Real Humans).

In Metaverse if you want to go to Paris, no need to take flights, purchase tickets, just type Paris and the environment around you will be transformed into Paris. So it means you can go anywhere, anytime by sitting even your own bedroom and living room.

These things are so fascinating but always there are two different views of a picture. Technology is always very good thing but it always bring its consequences too.

Cons of Metaverse

Now take a look on its negative impact on our society. If someone try to send bug or virus in this system what will happen? Are we sure that our data, information will be in safe hands? By using metaverse we will share our each and every information in more detailed way than ever before. What is the surety that Facebook will not use our information and data against us, as already they are sued for stealing and selling data of the people who use Facebook social media platform.

Also if AI got out of control, who will gonna control them? If we stuck in that environment what will happen? Do you remember once a game was launched named Pokémon Go. That game was also work on Augmented reality and virtual reality, and due to it there were lots of unfortunate incidents took place in the world.

People met unfortunate accidents by getting busy in catching Pokémon while driving, walking etc.. In most of the countries that game got ban due to this reason. Now think over it that game was based on really a fun oriented concept but, what happened when we humans got lost in that augmented reality.

So what about metaverse which will create a virtual environment around you and hide the real environment behind it?

Let me share an interesting and funny story which will tell that sometimes technology become how much dangerous and useless for mankind.

There was a man whose whole home was high-tech. Everything was working on his voice command. He woke up by the voice of AI based intelligent alarm system, He gave command to his AI system to prepare breakfast, open and close doors, open and close shower system, turn on and off lights, curtains, play on and off the music system. Means each and everything was based on such AI technology which just listen to that person's voice command.

It seemed cool and very innovative but one day he had an appointment to the dentist because the dentist have to do root canal of that man. He went to dentist and after root canaling he was not able to speak properly.

Now here the most interesting part of story starts. When he returned to his high-tech home powered by Artificial intelligence. He was unable to pronounce correctly so when he gave command to his AI system to open the door, AI system got wrong command and starts doing wrong things operation in the home instead of opening the door. There was raining and the guy was shivering outside but the door was not opening.

He somehow able to pronounce correctly and entered in the house after it but now what ever he say to AI system the system got wrong command and do just opposite to the man wish. So he just got frustrated that why he install this AI system in his house.

Conclusion

The story ends here but if we conclude metaverse can be beneficial and dangerous equally for the mankind. We have to handle this with care otherwise we can face such consequences as the man in the story faced. But Results can be much more dangerous and fatal in case of Metaverse. Thank you.
